Actually Good Coffee Shops in Guadalajara
Skip Starbucks. These are the specialty coffee spots GDL locals swear by — from third-wave roasters to cozy neighborhood cafes.
Cafe Negro — Dark, moody vibes and excellent black coffee. No frills, no oat milk art — just well-roasted coffee for purists.
Buna Cafe — Small-batch roaster sourcing from Chiapas and Oaxaca. The espresso tonic is a GDL summer essential.
Brew Bar Cafe — Serious about brewing — V60, Chemex, AeroPress, siphon all on the menu. Staff knows coffee and can guide you.
Cafe Ludica — Board game cafe in Chapultepec that also serves really good specialty coffee. Perfect rainy afternoon spot.
Subterraneo Cafe — Underground (literally) coffee shop near Centro. Unique atmosphere and rotating selection of Mexican single-origin beans.
Cafe Palreal — Neighborhood favorite in Providencia. Not trying to be trendy — just excellent coffee in a comfortable setting.
Quentin Cafe — Well-known Mexican specialty chain with a GDL location. Consistently good coffee, beautiful interiors.
Fellowship Coffee — Cozy spot on Chapultepec with great flat whites and a relaxed work-from-cafe vibe. Solid WiFi and good pastries.
Par Cuatro Cafe — Minimalist third-wave cafe with some of the best espresso in GDL. They roast their own beans. Multiple locations.
Cafe Scientifica — Science-themed specialty shop in Colonia Americana. Excellent single-origin pourovers and outstanding cold brew.
